Love affairs between Germans and forced laborers or prisoners of war were strictly forbidden under National Socialism. Women were publicly humiliated for "forbidden intercourse" and were threatened with imprisonment, imprisonment in a concentration camp or the execution of the mostly Polish forced laborers.
