From the Stadt Blankenberg train station, we enjoy a pleasant walk through the small half-timbered village of Auel and then along the large Siegschleife to Merten. In Bach, we cross the Sieg and enter the valley of the Krabach, which we initially follow until we branch off into the valley of the Ravensteiner Bach and follow it uphill. We reach Süchterscheid via a hill. After a long descent, we reach the valley of the Peschbach stream and finally reach the medieval town of Blankenberg with a counter-climb. A steep descent takes us to Stein, from where we walk a short distance through the valley meadows back to Blankenberg station.
