Corinthium Aes—a very special, almost magical alloy that was already known in Ancient Egypt! For a long time, knowledge of the complex manufacturing process was thought to have been lost. Goldsmith Matthias Lehr finally succeeded in reconstructing it.
In this workshop, learn more about the production and properties of this unique alloy, and view authentic ancient Egyptian artifacts made of the mysterious “black copper” at the Neues Museum. Afterward, under the guidance of Matthias Lehr, you can design your own jewelry plate using the inlay technique to create a piece that reflects your personal vision.
