In view of the world situation and the problems right on his own doorstep, it's no wonder that his mood quickly plummets when he reads the news. You can't even drown your bad mood in alcohol, because pubs are dying out by the dozen. How can you get out of this slump and perhaps even find happiness again? Determined to find answers, he embarks on a journey across Germany - from south to north, by car, boat or, of necessity, on the inconvenient rail replacement service.
