Die drei ??? - Toteninsel

The summer vacation has begun and The Three?? want to go on a road trip. But just as Justus Jonas (JULIUS WECKAUF), Peter Shaw (NEVIO WENDT) and Bob Andrews (LEVI BRANDL) are about to set off, the phone rings at headquarters and an unknown caller hands the trio of detectives their latest case. Needless to say, their vacation plans are quickly forgotten. The three boys follow the clues and come across the secret society Sphinx around the mysterious archaeology professor Phoenix (ANDREAS PIETSCHMANN) and his assistant Olin (JANNIK SCHÜMANN). Sphinx carries out illegal excavations and sells the stolen art treasures. They soon set off on an expedition to the active volcanic island of Makatao, also known as the Isle of the Dead. This is because the resting place of an ancient people is said to be cursed: No one who enters Makatao comes back alive. Why does Sphinx embark on such a daring journey? And what does the successful entrepreneur Joseph Saito Hadden (SIMON KLUTH) have to do with the expedition?

Like the second part of the film series, DIE DREI ?? AND THE CARPATEN DOG, THE THREE ?? - DEATH ISLAND follows on from the events of the previous films and also presents one of the most successful classic episodes of the popular books and radio plays about the three young detectives in a modern and new guise.

The main roles are played by Julius Weckauf ("Der Junge muss an die frische Luft") as Justus Jonas and leader of the famous trio of detectives, Nevio Wendt ("Rocca verändert die Welt") as Peter Shaw and Levi Brandl as Bob Andrews. They are joined once again by Jördis Triebel ("Dark", "Babylon Berlin") as Aunt Mathilda, Florian Lukas ("Good Bye, Lenin!", "Absolute Giganten") as Uncle Titus and Filip Schnack ("In die Sonne schauen") as Skinny Norris. New additions to the cast include Andreas Pietschmann ("Dark", "1899") and Jannik Schümann ("Die Mitte der Welt", "Disko 76") as the Sphinx members Professor Phoenix and Olin as well as Momo Beier ("Alter weißer Mann") as Jelena, who actively supports the three boys in their investigations. Tim Dünschede once again directed the film. Anil Kizilbuga wrote the screenplay. The dramaturgical advice for DIE DREI ??? - TOTENINSEL was once again the work of long-time Die drei ??? author André Marx, who also wrote the novel of the same name. The producers are Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann and Justyna Müsch. The executive producer is Isabel Haug.
