The young Swedish circus company Below Zero is making its German debut at the Düsseldorf Festival with its show “In Praise of Shadows,” which explores the shadows within us and around us. In an international comparison with Australian and French companies, Below Zero exemplifies a distinctive Scandinavian style that evokes the untamed, rugged, and at the same time poetic beauty of the North. “In Praise of Shadows” is an aesthetically captivating show that seamlessly blends daring acrobatics with dynamic choreography, accompanied by live music that ranges from whispering silence to pulsating rhythms, rustic folk music, and a club-like atmosphere.
