LJSO Hessen Jubiläum: Sinfoniekonzert

The LJSO Hessen has been the state's talent factory since 1976. To mark its 50th anniversary, alumni from all generations will return to where their musical journey began and meet the orchestra's current line-up in the hr-Sendesaal.

The first part of the concert will be performed by a specially formed anniversary orchestra under the direction of Nicolás Pasquet. Former members who are now active in renowned ensembles such as the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra will play together with many other companions. In addition to the Latin-American rhythms of Ginastera and Márquez, the focus will be on a work with a special Hessian connection: Paul Hindemith's impressive symphony "Mathis der Maler".

In the second part, the current generation of the LJSO takes to the podium. With Béla Bartók's "Concerto for Orchestra", the young musicians aged 13 to 21 present a bravura piece of modern music that demonstrates the unbroken energy and excellence of the orchestra in its anniversary year.

On the same day at 3.30 pm, there will be a chamber concert with the Amelio Trio, among others. Combined tickets are available for the symphony and chamber concert.
