The highs and lows of love come to life when Miles King & The Foolish Knights deliver funky, up-tempo beats and grooves in the style of Motown and Stax. The sounds of trumpets and saxophones fill the air, interwoven with a touch of the ’60s and ’70s. Miles King & The Foolish Knights captivate the audience on their journey into the magnetic world of soul—a world that blends the sounds of Otis Redding, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and Al Green.
Their latest single, “A Good Day b/w Hurt So Bad,” is currently available as a 45 rpm record—both through trunk sales and at select shops. The band’s sound is “raw” and “gritty”—using vintage ’60s microphones and an 8-track tape recorder, they conjure up an unmistakable retro-soul sound. The first tracks from the “TAPES EP” were created in collaboration with Mocambo Records and are being released on the up-and-coming label Soulport Records.
