Jüdisches Neujahrskonzert 5787

With music full of hope, the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich opens the Jewish New Year 5787 ( “Rosh ha-Shana”)—the “Head of the Year.” Conductor Daniel Grossmann has put together a concert program that combines Jewish folk music with festive synagogue music, bringing to life the diverse facets of the Jewish musical tradition. The vocal parts of this deeply rooted liturgical sacred music will be performed by the renowned cantors Nachman Turgeman and Yitzchak Zelman. 

It is a time for reflection, for pausing to consider, and for hope for a good, sweet beginning. These values of community and new beginnings are reflected in the musical program and make the concert a special experience marking the Jewish New Year. The works draw on both traditional melodies and new arrangements.
