The Wuppertal Cabaret Troupe is returning to Heidelberg in 2026—with what is now its 34th show. Following the successful guest performances “Grundgesetz statt weiter rechts” and “SchMERZgrenze erreicht,” the young ensemble is once again bringing a stage show full of biting satire, music, and surprising perspectives to the Kulturfenster.

From conscription to AI, school chaos to consumerism, the group takes aim at current political and social debates. Sometimes loud and absurd, sometimes thoughtful and spot-on—but always with humor and a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor.

What makes it special: Everything on stage is created by the teenagers and young adults themselves. The scripts are written collaboratively, the production is developed in-house, and even the program booklets, props, and promotional materials are produced independently. The result is cabaret that resonates closely with the issues facing a young generation.

For this commitment, the Kabarettungsdienst has received numerous awards—including the Wuppertal Springmann Prize for Art and Culture and the nationwide Hildegard Hamm-Brücher Prize from “Demokratisch Handeln.”
