Mimilotta Hasenohr hops cheerfully and fearlessly through the woods and meadows—so far that she gets completely lost and suddenly doesn’t know where she is anymore. She searches every cave and asks every animal she meets for directions, but no one knows where her home is.

And then the fox shows up, too! Mimilotta isn’t particularly brave, but she’s cunning and fast. So fast the wind can’t even keep up. Not even the fox can catch her!

Finally, her big brother finds her. He takes her by the paw, and they hop home together to drink hot cocoa.

Mimilotta’s world unfolds from a coat rack. Umbrellas, jackets, gloves, scarves, and hats become the landscapes, caves, creatures, and dangers she encounters. A story for timid, fearful, shy, and brave children—from which they can draw strength for their encounters with the world.
