Konzert: Eamon McGrath / Life Insurance (Anti-Folk/Singer-Songwriter/Indierock)
In the organizer's words:
Jack-of-all-trades Eamon McGrath, tirelessly on the road for years in DIY style, as an (indie) rock musician with a band, in solo singer-songwriter mode, he still finds time to write books, organize concerts and now also record bands. Eamon McGrath has already been a guest in Kassel several times, now as part of his "UNDER EUROPEAN STARS" TOUR on WEDNESDAY, 15.04.26 at Subterrain in the Sandershaus.
Eamon McGrath is a Windsor-based musician with over 15 years of touring experience in Canada, the UK, USA, Europe, Mexico and Japan. He has released over 25 albums, written two books, scored two feature films and has toured relentlessly around the world since 2007, where he has built an international audience and a dedicated, loyal network of fans. His uncompromising DIY approach has earned him respect and admiration from both the indie rock and folk scenes, as he effortlessly bridges the gap between the two genres.
During a 10-month world tour, the songs were written by A Dizzying Lust. On the album, McGrath shows the pioneering spirit of a folk singer touring alone with his acoustic guitar.
In 2025 Eamon organized concerts for @pinkmountaintops [Stephen McBean] in Canada and "supported" @loubarlow on his Canadian tour. He also released the wonderful album JETLAG with @oldseedisms.

Y, friend and guest of Subterrain, will be performing his first live concert with us.
Life Insurance is a music project he started in Cape Town (South Africa). Musically, the songs belong to the singer/songwriter genre, but there are also occasional borrowings from alternative rock or slowcore. The melancholic lyrics deal with metaphysical loneliness. Melancholic lyrics, reverberant guitar overdubs, tracks sometimes with drums. DIY bedroom recordings as it should be. Reduced to the essentials.
