Kultursommer Starnberg 2026 - Johnny & the Yooahoos

In the organizer's words:

Musically, the Yooahoos focus on pure acoustic sounds: banjo, mandolin, guitar, double bass, and three-part harmonies blend into a sound that bridges tradition and modernity. Sometimes energetic and raw, sometimes lyrical and atmospheric—but always authentic, approachable, and captivating. Whether on festival stages, in clubs, or at open-air venues—Johnny & the Yooahoos take their audience on a journey between nostalgic bluegrass and contemporary folk, full of passion, joy, and unmistakable charm.

Since 2018, Johnny & the Yooahoos have been bringing a breath of fresh air to the European bluegrass and folk scene. What began as performances on small stages in southern Germany has since taken the four musicians to international festivals in France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland.

In 2025, they reached their biggest milestone to date: As winners of the IBMA International Band Grant, the Yooahoos toured the U.S. for five weeks—with legendary stops including the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York.

In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the Schlossberghalle in Starnberg.

Free admission.
