Lecture: Of floods, cold and heat: weather events in old chronicles of Central Germany
Numerous chronicles have survived for Leipzig and Central Germany, in which important historical events for cities or regions were recorded. Extreme weather events such as
floods, ice and snow, heat and drought are often mentioned and today represent important sources for climate history. Leipzig city archivist Dr. Michael Ruprecht has systematically evaluated chronicles and will present his findings in this lecture.
