For over a decade, LANCE BUTTERS has been navigating the German rap scene—without ever having been part of the calculated game. He first gained attention through his unconventional performances at the VBT, followed by his debut album “Blaow,” which climbed to number two on the German charts in 2015. In 2018, “Angst” marked a turning point: a shift away from ironic, misanthropic punchlines toward unflinching self-revelation. Since then, themes such as mental health, isolation, and social divides have shaped his work and established him as one of the most distinctive voices in German-language rap.
