KLINKE: Die Sache & Raphael Bella Superstar

The three beat alchemists of“Die Sache”have dedicated themselves to unpredictable power pop and cheerfully experiment with it. As early as 1984, *spex* magazine praised them: “Perfect ’60s pop from Tübingen.” Well, “Tübingen” is accurate, but “perfect”? More like rebellious, loud, and intense—not quite out of the garage yet. And time and again, you hear unexpected elements that don’t seem to fit in at all.
“Der befreite Ton” is the title of their 2025 concept album—piano-based chansons with delicious rhythms. For the concert at Merlin, they’ve electrified some of these tracks and will incorporate them into their set in this form, alongside their well-known classics. Charles Miller (rhythm), Subke (melody), and Le Marquis (harmony) are looking forward to seeing you.

Raphael Bella Superstaris a music project that emerged from the depths of Linz’s dandy DIY scene. It blends synth-punk and noise-pop. Following the release of the EP “Ibuprofen” in 2024 and a move to Leipzig, the solo project expanded into a four-piece live band. The music is characterized by repetitive synthesizer melodies, explosive drums, electric guitar, and a minimalist approach to lyrics.
