LEAP is the new project of London-based troubadour Jack Balfour Scott. He was previously a member of indie rock band The Mispers, hailed as "boundary-pushing," which ended its run of success in 2018 after gaining a fanatical following with its electrifying and unpredictable live shows. POPPED Music described the artist as "the frontman every singer wants to be." Born and raised between Edinburgh and Cape Town, he studied at music school in Brighton. Jack's internationally diverse background informs the music he creates with the band - an eclectic mix of rock and roll outsiders.... On drums is bisexual-Buddhist multi-instrumentalist Hector Cottam. Jack and Hector grew up together in Scotland and have been inseparable since they were four years old. Since their first appearance with the "BabyShambles" at the age of fourteen in Glasgow, many years of mischievous pranks and musical escapades have followed. Declan "BullsEye" Brown, who strums the bass guitar, was forged in the fires of Johannesburg and is battle-hardened in the Camden rock scene. He had a chance encounter with Jack at the iconic music venue "The Hawley Arms" and they struck up a friendship over their fondness for cheap denim clothing. They always bring an unbridled energy to the stage and massive riffs that shake you to the core. What's not to love about "Barefoot Brown?" The musical equation was completed with the introduction of a young, blonde Jedi in the form of Adam Mason. An extremely talented and classically trained guitarist who really brought the LEAP sound to life. Adam has been in the spotlight since he was a kid, dancing on various TV shows, and now, at just 22 years old, he has already performed in front of thousands of people across Europe with various projects. The future of this beardless young star looks bright. In 2021, LEAP was formed to step out of the world of DIY releases and develop a more ambitious, refined sonic palette that will easily put them on par with some of indie rock's biggest acts. The single "Energies" has been praised as an "anthemic mosh pit starter." Their 6-track debut EP, "1 Million Pieces" (released 2022), is darker yet extremely accessible and represents a resounding statement of intent. Undeniable chorus hooks laced with rock and roll extremes and Jack's unique vocals take you on a journey through London's twisted underbelly and his own struggles with mental health. The song has been streamed over 300,000 times and received support from Earmilk, Its All Indie, Fame Magazine, BBC Radio6, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and many more.
