The grande dame of European cinema, Hanna Schygulla, herself a refugee child, meets four young men again after seven years, who came to Berlin as unaccompanied refugees in 2015. Mostafa, Mojtaba, Mohebi and Alireza formed dolls out of papier-mâché at Veronika's adult education center, oversized guardians of human rights. Now, seven years later, Hanna and Veronika have become friends. Together they are moved: how have the young men arrived in the now? They tour with the filmmakers to the boys' workplaces, meet them in the park, at the lake - they are always moved by the question: what do the young men think and feel about current developments, where do they feel they belong? Encounters in the now: two generations, different cultures - and human rights - just papier-mâché?
