Léonard Engel: CARCASSE
In the organizer's words:
How do we move forward when abhorrence seems to be triumphing? When democracy is crumbling? When political hypocrisy is everywhere? When everything we once held sacred is being desecrated and shattered? When every emotion, every everyday gesture is clouded by revulsion?
In *Carcasse*, five performers confront the remnants of their existence. They inhabit a body whose structure is irrevocably scarred—a skeleton, a carcass, in which revulsion and powerlessness dictate every movement. How can this body be made to dance? Wavering between gentleness and rage, paralysis and ecstasy, they paint a picture of a bleak present and an uncertain future.
