This is not simply a concert, but a chamber music experience in which the music continues to speak even when the words fall silent.

Once upon a time, these pieces were performed with the composer’s own voice, became almost like folk songs, and found their way far beyond the academic music scene. Today they are heard in a new form—arranged for cello and piano.
