In the organizer's words:
They’ve taken their home scene by storm: Lime Garden are considered the great new hope of the British indie scene, precisely because their fearless, unconventional music is so incredibly fun.
Singer Chloe Howard, guitarist Leila Deeley, bassist Tippi Morgan, and drummer Annabel Whittle met on social media—when they were just 16 years old. Together, they studied at the renowned BIMM music college in Brighton and released their first singles. Even back then, they knew what kind of music they wanted to make: spirited indie rock as a loving homage to the indie sleaze era of the 2000s, but also experimental, fresh, and hopeful “Wonk Pop.” They released their debut album, “One More Thing,” in 2024. On it, you can hear Lime Garden coming of age—and this refreshing energy earned them numerous nominations as “Artists to Watch” in renowned magazines like NME and DIY, a nomination for the Anchor Award at the Reeperbahn Festival, and praise from legends like Johnny Marr and Hayley Williams.
Meanwhile, the quartet has cemented its reputation as a spectacular live band. Whether on big stages at Glastonbury or the Reading and Leeds Festival, as the opening act for bands like IDLES or Yard Act, or on their own completely sold-out tour—the four members’ presence and camaraderie make every concert an extraordinary moment.
On their second album, “Maybe Not Tonight,” which is set to be released on April 10, they show themselves to be bolder than ever. Over hypnotic drumlines and deliberately detuned synthesizers, Lime Garden sing about life’s uncomfortable truths. Told through the course of a party night full of highs and lows, they explore the difficulty of personal change—and admitting one’s own mistakes. Throughout it all, they remain true to their tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic humor, which is also evident at their concerts. This fall, Lime Garden are finally returning to Germany with their new album in tow, making stops in Cologne, Berlin, and at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
