When actor and singer Matthias Rödder falls in love with a successful and charismatic lawyer in Cologne's nightlife, the sky is full of violins. At first. Because as the title suggests, the lover and life partner who is supposedly soon to be appointed to the European Court of Justice is a scam artist who mercilessly exploits his victim's trust, both financially and emotionally. For years, Rödder is unable to free himself from the ominous grip of his idealized dream man, despite warnings from friends and acquaintances. Until he meets other victims and decides to bring his closest confidant to justice. The three-part documentary series lets those affected have their say and shows the perfidious means by which "love scammers" can destroy entire existences.

This premiere is part of the SERIENCAMP FESTIVAL 2025. Admission to our screenings is free of charge. However, if you want to be on the safe side, you can secure a ticket here via rausgegangen for a small reservation fee of €2.55.

Admission to the movie theater is 15 minutes before the start of the screening. As we want to give as many people as possible access to the screening, your reservation will expire 5 minutes after the start of the screening and we will allocate the seats elsewhere.
