EDEKA Maaß Oberneuland , together with Emotional.Zone, Oberneuland Magazin, Rausgegangen.de and Cafe-Schwarz.TV, has beenpresenting Maaßkultur every Wednesday from May to October since 2023. From 17:30 to 20:30, whereby... the end of the concert is largely determined by the audience (i.e. you)!

AUSTIN MILLER & AMANDA ESPOSITO

are singer/songwriters from Atlanta, USA. With their modern and refreshing approach, they dive deep into timeless Americana and blur the lines between classical and modern. On stage, the duo plays harmonious songs that come from the heart on an array of instruments that they throw at each other. With hundreds of performances in dozens of countries, they create live shows that are unforgettable and unique.

Austin Miller has been immersed in music since an early age. Growing up with Springsteen, Petty and piano lessons from the age of 3, there was hardly a moment in childhood when the radio wasn't on or a record wasn't playing. But it wasn't until college that he started putting pen to paper, thanks to a week-long Dylan frenzy that turned listening into meaning.

Between that frenzy and today, Miller has performed his songs over 1,000 times on stage in 40 states and 23 countries. For him, home is countless hours on the road, the uncertainty, and most importantly, the opportunity to socialize. Watch his performance once and you'll know; then he's firmly in his element.

With "Doing it Wrong" comes his fourth and most ambitious album to date. It's a personal triumph in which he expects to turn new pages, burn the old ones, age and experience both the beauty and the pain that comes with it. He is no stranger to either, and he puts them both on the same shelf.

On the album opener "Every Page", he sings "There's no ink or stone... I've got eager hands, I take it day by day." He figures it out as he goes. That's where he shines.

Amanda Esposito's debut album begins in a familiar place: picking up the pieces of a broken heart. Over the course of 7 songs, the pieces are slowly tucked away and then almost forgotten. The road winds, the sea changes, and so does she. On a side road in the Baltic, she realizes that the pieces have finally come back together. If you look at it closely, it's certainly not a story arc she or anyone else would ever have dreamed of.

There's an undeniable honesty, both in Amanda's songwriting and in her performance. On "Trek to Tallinn", she did indeed take a long, exhilarating journey across Estonia with heavy lungs. It was probably even more harrowing than it likes to think. You probably had to be there. But the free-flowing, dreamy album closer is the next best thing. This road finally came to an end, and with it a chapter. Finally, the pieces are exactly where they belong. And it's a beautiful sight.

Free admission to Maaßkultur, we collect by the hat. Just come along and enjoy good music and good conversation with acquaintances, friends and strangers, or maybe even a little dance!!!?

Don't worry about Bremen's shietwetter, if it rains too much we'll simply move to our favorite café. The Lieblingscafé will also offer a special snack menu on the evenings of MAASSKULTUR, so you can enjoy your evening meal on site.

Enjoy a few hours of music in a relaxed atmosphere on our (hopefully always summery) square with musicians and bands from a wide variety of genres. And if you like it - musicians love spotlights - then you are welcome to leave something for the musicians and bands...
