"Bon Appétit! How Food Brings Us Together" A special exhibition on food and drink culture featuring 300 objects and many hands-on stations!
In detail: Eating together is far more than just consuming food. Whether at a royal banquet, a simple peasant meal, a family dinner, or a shared lunch break—exciting questions arise everywhere: Who sits where? Who gets the best cut? What rituals shape the shared meal? And what does all this reveal about power, belonging, social change, and, above all, culture? From opulent banquets and ritual feasts to the challenges of our time—quick snacks, digital distractions, and the apparent loss of shared rituals—the exhibition “Mahlzeit!” shows how eating has served as a social glue for millennia.
