5 saxophones and rhythm section - a classic in jazz. One immediately thinks of the legendary group "Supersax" around Med Flory, Jack Nimitz and Warne Marsh, who transformed Charlie Parker's virtuoso solos into a spectacular section sound in the 1970s and became a role model for many similar bands. Now Paul Heller and Marcus Bartelt present their brand new Cologne version of this sound. They play arrangements and compositions by the musicians involved, harmonizations of spectacular solos by their favourite saxophonists and much more. The band spans almost 3 generations, the two bandleaders are joined by Hubert Nuss and Stefan Pfeifer, two companions from decades ago, and they combine with some of the young stars of the local scene to form an explosive ensemble.
