With the "SWING GEORG" concert series, Cologne-based trumpeter Thimo Niesterok celebrates the music of the swing era in a variety of top-class line-ups. The singer CLEO, another outstanding musician, is a guest at King Georg. With remarkable naturalness, she interprets the repertoire of the Great American Songbook in the tradition of the grandes dames of jazz - such as Sarah Vaughan or Ella Fitzgerald - and yet always reveals her very own artistic signature. In particular, her extremely tasteful use of scat solos and her strong stage presence immediately captivate the audience.
Her debut album Let Them Talk, which won the German Record Critics' Quarterly Award, opened the door to renowned jazz stages early on and soon led her to musical encounters with jazz greats such as Michaël Valeanu, Doug Weiss and Ryan Carniaux.
Thimo Niesterok (*1996) is one of the outstanding voices of the young German jazz scene and is a fascinating trumpeter not only because of his extraordinary musicality, but also because of his passion for swing and mainstream jazz. Niesterok's warm, nuanced tone and unmistakable phrasing lend his musical language a special depth that delights both long-time jazz fans and new and especially young listeners alike.
