Villa Band feat. Paul Heller “Jugendarbeit meets Jazz”

The "Villa Band" of the youth center "Die Villa" in Volkhoven/Chorweiler is a social project of the SKM which is now performing at King Georg for the third time. Talented young people who cannot afford lessons are given free composition, ensemble and instrumental lessons on various instruments by José Díaz de León. In the meantime, a considerable repertoire of original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards has been created, which are performed. The repertoire of compositions and arrangements covers a wide range and includes swing classics, bossa nova and Latin rhythms as well as odd meters. Special guest saxophonist Paul Heller joins the WDR Bigband.
