Maria Schüritz is a musical flâneuse and vagabond. Antiheroes populate her soul-inspired songs, telling stories of new beginnings and metamorphoses. In doing so, they also examine various social issues. The singer-songwriter’s boundless curiosity is also reflected in her musical diversity: Traces of chanson, jazz-pop, world music, and experimental music blend with the soul-rock vibe. The Leipzig-based artist captivates audiences with the many facets of her voice—ranging from soft jazz to spoken word to rousing soul power, accompanied by delicate to groovy guitar.

Her latest album,“Durch die Nacht”(R.U.M.-Records/Löwenzahn, 2024), has already made the longlist for theGerman Record Critics’ Award3/24 and is featured on theLiederbestenliste. In 2024, she was honored at the Pop Music Competition in Saxony; in 2023, she received the Liederleute Promotion Prize; and in 2022, she won first prize from the jury at the legendary Hoyschrecke festival.
