Max Goldt was born in Göttingen in 1958 and lives in Berlin. Together with Gerd Pasemann, he formed the music duo "Foyer des Arts", in which he declaimed his own texts. Max Goldt has published ten comic books together with Katz. He often travels the German-speaking world as a speaker of his own texts. In 1997 he was awarded the Kassel Literature Prize for grotesque humor, in 1999 the Richard Schönfeld Prize for literary satire, in 2008 the Kleist Prize and the Hugo Ball Prize and in 2016 the Göttinger Elch.
