A guest performance by STUDIOBÜHNEKÖLN as part of "REGRETTING HUMANKIND. EUROPEAN POSITIONS"
MÉMÉ is a solo performance by Sarah Vanhee, with guest appearances by puppets, ghosts and a child. The intergenerational theater work illuminates the relationship to the ancestors, the native earth and the female body. At the center are the ghosts and life stories of Vanhee's grandmothers, who - like many women of their time - dedicated their lives to work, in two ways: bearing and raising children and working in the household and on the land - always in the service of others. MÉMÉ thus becomes an ode to these women "made invisible", to life itself, to work and to joy, touching and profound at the same time. A production by CAMPO, in co-production with HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Kunstenfestivaldesarts (Brussels), Kaaitheater (Brussels), Wiener Festwochen, BUDA (Kortrijk), De Grote Post (Oostende), Théâtre de la Bastille (Paris), Festival d'Automne à Paris, Perpodium.
