What does it mean to grow old in a foreign society? What does it mean for families when parents and grandparents need care? Fatma Dik-Thiel poses these questions in her three volumes of poetry entitled Migration and Dementia. Among other things, they deal with longing, homesickness and growing old in migration. With selected passages from her books, the author invites us to reflect together.
