30 Years of Loud, Raw, & Local: The Munich Hardcore Festival Celebrates Its Anniversary!

Munich is going wild—for two whole days! The legendary Munich Hardcore Festival is celebrating its big 30th anniversary and transforming the Feierwerk into the ultimate hangout for the local underground scene.

To mark this milestone birthday, the festival is fully embracing its local roots while also pushing genre boundaries: Over two days, eight bands from the Munich area will bring a killer cross-section of the entire hard music scene to the stage. From snotty punk to classic hardcore to heavy hardcore metal bangers, there’s everything to make a mosh pit enthusiast’s heart race.

This anniversary impressively demonstrates just how diverse, loud, and vibrant the Munich scene still is, even after three decades. Get ready for an epic birthday party with no compromises!

On Saturday, after the bands, there’ll be an after-show party with DJ Waikiki.

RANCORS[Street Punk, German Punk | Munich]
THE RANCORSwere founded in 1998 as a street punk/German punk band and have remained true to their independent “do-it-yourself” mentality to this day. Open to various musical styles, the band has nevertheless always remained true to the roots of hardcore punk over the years, not least due to various lineup changes on the instruments.
For THE RANCORS, punk represents a deep, inner attitude. The lyrics—whether in English or German—address perennial social contradictions regarding humanism, feminism, and queer self-determination—in contrast to the irresponsible abuse of power, nationalist madness, racism, the selfishness of an unbridled consumer society within a system of unrestrained capitalism, or simply their own understanding of humanity.
However, you’ll search in vain for a “just sing-along” attitude with this band. After the departure of longtime singer and founding member Oli in 2022, the band’s sound evolved once again with new singer Nathalie, though the music’s uncompromising intensity remained intact without sacrificing its playful sophistication.
