On 04.05.24 we bring synthwave back to the Blue Shell in Cologne.

The Goondock Saint

With "The Goondock Saint" we have a guest who first appeared in the synthwave landscape in 2018 and will now play his first live gig with us. His style can certainly be placed in the dark synth genre, as he plays a lot with the usual tropes such as pentagrams or the dark sound. With his metal background, he is certainly well suited to this genre, but he also frequently delves into the lighter realms of synthwave and has the odd catchy melody at the start. After the pure synth sound became too boring for him, he pimped it up with electric guitars on his new album "Let's Exorcise". This is also how he will present his live show. We are delighted to welcome The Goondock Saint from Bochum to Cologne for the first time.

Eternal Empire

Another Cologne debut will also be "Eternal Empire". The young artist from Dresden only released his first album "Rise and Fall" in 2023. He skillfully mixes dark synth with strong cyberpunk influences. If the Roman Empire had never fallen and had been transported to a cyberpunk future, it would certainly sound like this. The last 2 singles "Revenge oft the Son" & "Welcome to New Rome" take his sound deeper into midtempo cyberpunk territory and we like that a lot. So please welcome our artists and we look forward to seeing you.

What is "Neon Paradise"? Do you like 80s synthesizers or are you into cyberpunk, but want modern beats and a tolerant, friendly crowd to party to? Then come and join us at the Blue Shell - which is regarded as an instance for alternative newcomers - and immerse yourself in an atmosphere somewhere between Blade Runner and Stranger Things! With fog and neon lights we dance through the night. All friendly people are welcome, no matter what you look like or who you like. There is a checkroom, nice bouncers and a small outdoor area for smoking. And all for a really fair price!
