At the last Musikfest, Richard Galliano explored the common identity of jazz, tango and musette with a tribute to Astor Piazzolla. Now he returns with his trio to revive his legendary album "Viaggio". Released in 1993, Galliano decided, on the advice of his friend Piazzolla, to enrich the musical tradition of the musette in the style of "Tango Nuevo" with jazz elements and establish it as the "New Musette". He succeeded brilliantly and Galliano not only liberated the musette from its dusty image, but also the accordion. Under his fingers, the instrument so long ignored by the jazz scene was transformed into a magnificent swing machine with a rich, sensual and full sound. As a special guest, the trio welcomes Joey Baron, one of the most versatile drummers on the scene, who has already worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Stan Getz, John Scofield and David Bowie.
