NICA live: Headless Society

A glance at the stage shows: Modified Gameboys, junk guitars, an old Echolette tape echo, brand new synthesizers, microphones, an electronic saxophone, a bass and two drums. We hear: New, electronic and improvised club music by Headless Society.

The musicians, whose line-up varies from constant to changing, are all about freedom in music and the will to steer a spaceship full of sounds, including perfectly wrong notes (Sun Ra), into the hearts of the audience. Headless Society's rousing concerts are reminiscent of the spirit of the Krautrock era and its stories: Hypnotically wild sounds and untamed music invite you to party for no reason.

The drummer Thomas Sauerborn - NICA artist 2024 - is part of the Headless Society and uses this date in the "NICA live" series to bring energetic bubbling to the Green Room - the open-air stage of the Stadtgarten Köln.
