Initiated by the Cologne saxophonist, composer and NICA artist Theresia Philipp, Fields in Motion brings together four independent voices from the European jazz and improvisation scene, who move between fixed structures and free expression with sensitivity, tonal depth and form-conscious playing.

The joint concert as an open playing field: as a structure that is in constant motion and in whose space fragile transparency, tonal subtlety and intensive interaction at eye level unfold. With bassist Phil Donkin, Ronny Graupe on guitar, drummer Sun-Mi Hong and Theresia Philipp, musicians come together who impress with their extraordinary presence and artistic depth, both as soloists and in their collective interplay. In dialog, they create new, flowing forms at their concert premiere - moving fields between jazz, contemporary music and improvisation.
