Öffentliche Führung durch die Sonderausstellung „Jupp Darchinger – Das Auge der Republik“

The Reichspräsident-Friedrich-Ebert-Gedenkstätte Foundation invites you to a public guided tour of the special exhibition "Jupp Darchinger - The Eye of the Republic".

The tour sheds light on how Darchinger, as a critical chronicler, shaped the visual memory of an entire era. His photographs of personalities such as Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt have become icons of contemporary history. In addition to well-known motifs, the exhibition also presents works that have rarely been shown before, providing new insights into Darchinger's multifaceted work.

A special focus is on the so-called "themed pictures", which document the political and economic upheaval after the Second World War and at the same time make social upheavals of the Bonn Republic visible - from the 1973 oil crisis to thepeace and emancipation movement and the migration debate of the 1980s.
