DJ CEM has been hosting the OLDSCHOOL Party since 2014—back then at Subway, and now at Veedel Club since 2017. For all old-school fans, those who don’t get trap, and jiggy dance move experts—together with PeteHair, Cem spins the hip-hop and R&B sounds of the ’90s and ’00s.

What’s OLDSCHOOL all about:
I’m throwing a party this Saturday at the VEEDEL CLUB. Nothing special at first glance, but the “what” and “why” behind it are all the more important. After more than 15 years of DJing, there’s now a sizeable group of guys and girls who used to be at all those Thursday Beatpackers parties years ago, but who no longer go out during the week because of such trivial things as work and family.
And even on the weekends, it’s hard to get into the party spirit because people well past their mid-twenties just aren’t interested in checking out bodies that are way too young for them 
Yeah, I’m talking about what’s commonly called an “over-30s” party. Traditionally, that term brings to mind decay, Helene Fischer, and baffling outfits. 
In this case, it’s more of a party with people who were just as cool 10 years ago as they are now, and who love the “good old” rap & R&B sound just as much as we do. Well, at 28, you have different ideas about what a party should be than you did at 18. And it’s the same for someone whose age starts with a 3 or a 4.
And that’s exactly why I started this party in 2014—for people who’ve always had alternative musical tastes. But what do you do when you’re in your mid-30s or older and want to let loose without being asked if you’re picking up your daughter—or stalking other people’s daughters? 
So, enough chit-chat. Anyone who secretly buys Nivea Q10 cream should feel like this is for them
