SIREN SISTERS SOUNDSYSTEM longside MC TREASURE IRIE & special guest

Already since 2008 the party series SIREN SISTERS IN DUB takes place at Sunny Red. Guests are always nationally and internationally known reggae artists. The MC TREASURE IRIE from Ecuador (Dandelion Soundsystem, Fusion Festival; Seasplash, Pula etc) will be at the microphone. Look forward to a danceable mixture of roots and dub!

Inspired by Rastafari, the soundsystem culture in the UK and Jamaica, CATITAH STEPPAH and SISTER SIREN lay down deep roots, meditative dub and heavy steppas. With their selection, the two want to stimulate thought and touch the soul, while at the same time highlighting social ills and expressing their resistance to the Babylonian system. Firmly rooted in the roots, with great respect for the originators of reggae, the two vinyl enthusiasts have new releases and dubplates in addition to roots classics. For the Feierwerk anniversary, the two will bring along their own sound system, the SIREN SISTERS SOUNDSYSTEM, and the singer MC TREASURE IRIE. The Ecuadorian-born singer reaches deep into his effects box and enriches the set with live sampling and spoken word vocals.
SIREN SISTERS have been doing their own events at Feierwerk since 2008, since 2023 with their own equipment and with the new regular OMEGA DUB CIRCLE. They especially want to empower and encourage other women to express themselves artistically. One goal is to shed light on female artists* by playing their tunes or inviting them to perform. Since 2008, over 100 artists* have performed at their sessions, such as "Sista Habesha," "Roots Daughters," "Sista Awa," "Dasha Fyah," "Jazzmin Tutum," and "Jah Vibes Soundsystem." The sound system is more than a set of boxes and amplifiers. It is a platform and creates a space to meet and share, listen, connect, dance, heal, meditate and celebrate.
CATITAH STEPPAH and SISTER SIREN are also part of the women's collective LIONESS AWAKE. With the non-profit association KULTURIMPULS, they organize Rootsbase at Fusion Festival and events such as Dubimpuls, Dubimpuls Yard and Lioness Awake Roots Café in Freising and can be heard regularly with DJ sets at festivals, on radio shows and live streams. MC TREASURE IRIE is a DJ, lead singer and MC. He exclusively sings his own songs and lyrics that revolve around social criticism, political tricks and the controversies of life. MC TREASURE IRIE originally comes from Ecuador and can now look back on a 20-year stage career. The word acrobat started with a hip hop band in his hometown Memmingen. After various reggae bands and sound projects in dub, hip hop & drum'n'bass, MC TREASURE IRIE has now been active on the mic for over 10 years with "Dandelion Soundsystem", as well as with "Eisbach Callin'", "Siren Sisters", at the Rootsbase/Fusion Festival and Siko Munich.
