The three stories revolve around the relationships of adult children with their sometimes distant parents and with one another. Each of the three chapters is set in the present day, each in a different country: FATHER is set in the northeastern United States, MOTHER in Dublin, and SISTER BROTHER in Paris. It is a series of character studies—quiet, observational, and non-judgmental—and at the same time a comedy interwoven with subtle threads of melancholy. In his latest stroke of genius, iconic director Jim Jarmusch has a star-studded cast—including Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Indya Moore, and Luka Sabbat—explore the complexities of family relationships.
