Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship, light-years away from Earth, with no memory of himself or his mission. Little by little, his memory returns: he is supposed to investigate a mysterious substance that threatens the sun. An unexpected connection reveals to him that he may not have to fight this battle alone...
