Brandon and Philip are two young men who share an apartment in New York City. They consider themselves intellectually superior to their friend David Kentley and therefore decide to murder him. Together, they strangle David with a rope, and after placing the body in an old chest, they throw a small party. Among the guests are David’s father, his fiancée Janet, and their former teacher Rupert, from whom they’ve mistakenly adopted their ideas. As Brandon grows bolder, Rupert begins to suspect something.
