There was a time when Rosenberg had come to terms with the certainty of being alone. Now 42, the singer-songwriter looked back on a successful but restless career. “I had slowly come to terms with the
the idea that I might never have a family of my own,” Rosenberg recalls. But then everything changed—in a way he himself describes as “romantic and almost absurdly Hollywood-esque.” The love of his life had, in fact, been standing right beside him on stage all along. For ten years, Rebekah was his manager, accompanying him through tour buses, promotional marathons, and video shoots around the world.
After the pandemic, sparks flew between the two of them. The risk was high: “Transitioning
transitioning from a working relationship to a romantic one is scary. The older you get, the more scars you’ve picked up from love,” Rosenberg admits.
It is precisely this electrifying limbo between fear and devotion that fuels his new work, “Wild Love.” It is arguably the musician’s most personal and multifaceted album to date. The tracks capture the entire spectrum of love, from the gnawing uncertainty in the cheerful, percussive “Caution To The Wind” to the anthemic title track, the heart of the album. He didn’t shy away from sonic experiments in the studio in the South Downs either: For “Caution To The Wind,” he drew inspiration from Bruce Hornsby’s ’80s piano sound. “At that time, I had
absolutely no control over my emotions. So the music couldn’t sound too controlled either,” he laughs. Songs like the opener “Boomerang” also reflect this transformation: born out of the monotony of the pandemic, it gives voice to the desire for a fresh start.
Anyone who has ever seen Passenger live, however, knows that his songs only reveal their full magic on stage. The man who once stood on sidewalks with nothing but a guitar and an amp knows better than almost anyone else how to transform even huge arenas into intimate living rooms. His live concerts are an emotional roller coaster: through a mix of melancholic ballads, rousing sing-along anthems, and his humorous, charming anecdotes, he creates a special connection with the audience—one that’s rarely found in today’s pop music scene.
Mike Rosenberg will soon be bringing this unparalleled live energy back to Germany. With his new album in tow, Passenger will set out on his major European tour in the spring of 2027. As part of this tour, he’ll stop in Germany in March 2027 for four concerts to present his new songs and old classics live to local audiences.
