PLAYTIME / OPEN FORM:AT Session

In the organizer's words:

Improvisation is practiced as a form of communication to sharpen our listening and intuition and to further develop the expressiveness and playfulness of our dance. We practise processing the influences, impulses and inspirations that surround us in order to create spontaneously and in real time, individually and together. Through movement we explore and experience the meaning and practice of (shared) leadership, support, responsibility, participation and freedom. Elements of this practice are based on David Zambrano's 'Soul Project', his composition method 'Let's Dance' and Circle Singing. All levels of experience welcome. No previous experience necessary - just curiosity, interest and desire.

Level: OPEN LEVEL (from beginner to professional), from 14 years.

Language(s): English & German

Improvisation - dynamic & experimental

The sessions take place as part of our OPEN FORM:AT residency. KHARABA & GUESTS reside from 22.06 - 04.07.

Khadidiatou Bangoura is a dancer & choreographer from Cologne and director of KHARABA & GUESTS. After studying International Relations, Development Studies and African Studies in London, she trained in dance at Danceworks Berlin and the Tictac Art Center in Brussels. Her work deals with relationality and perception. She explores our relationships to ourselves, to each other and to our environment - for new narratives and perspectives, more self-reflection and deeper self-knowledge. Her works include "FÜHL DIE WELT DURCH MEINE HAUT - Observations on everyday racism" (2021), "LIFE IS A JUNGLE" (2024) for blind, visually impaired and sighted audiences and "PINKE PINKE - a poetic reflection on money" (2025). Since 2024, she has offered the inclusive workshop "DANCE TO THE MUSIC" and the improvisation session "PLAYTIME". She was artistic co-director of the Sommerblut cultural festival in 2024 and is a member of the advisory board for the FAVORITEN Festival 2026.
