We cordially invite you to the panel discussion on the topic "Queer. Safe. Self-determined. Is a non-discriminatory life possible in Germany?" .

The event will shed light on current developments in queer politics in Germany. Against the backdrop of the termination of the federal action plan "Queer leben" and in view of the persistently high and in some cases rising numbers of crimes against queer people, the question of security and equality will be renegotiated.

The focus is on the tension between federal policy decisions and developments at state level - for example through constitutional amendments and extended state action plans - as well as their political classification.

In addition, perspectives from civil society practice will be presented, in particular on experiences from working with those affected, on challenges in victim protection and violence prevention as well as on necessary political and social measures to improve the situation of queer people.

These issues will be discussed by Magnus Jung (Saarland Minister for Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Youth), Sophie Koch (Federal Government Commissioner for the Acceptance of Sexual and Gender Diversity), Sebastian Thul (LSVD Saar board member), Jeanne Dillschneider (Member of the Bundestag, Alliance 90/The Greens) and Julia Zimmermann (LSVD+ board member). Anna-Lena Mergen will moderate the event.
