Freedom or resistance? This gripping drama about an Iranian women's rights activist is based on a screenplay by Mohammad Rasoulof. Maryam has been imprisoned in her home country for six years. When she is granted a seven-day medical leave, she is able to reunite with her family. Without her knowledge, her brother and husband have devised a plan to smuggle her out of Iran. Maryam begins a dangerous trek through snow-covered mountains that eventually leads her to Turkey. There she is faced with a decision: Does she really want to stay in safe exile - or should she return to her prison cell to continue the fight for equality and democracy?
