read together! - Short stories & talks

The talk format read together! was founded in October 2023 by journalist Nada Assaad and sees itself as a lively and charming alternative to traditional readings. read together! combines literature with entertainment and shows writers from their most personal and intimate side.

At each event, four authors present lovingly curated, self-written short stories or chapters from their books. The focus of read together! is on stories that are close to everyday life and have a strongly descriptive character. Each presentation is followed by a personal talk between the moderator and the author. The talks aim to make the world of thought of the presenting authors tangible. They talk about writing, the literary world, but also about current affairs and life itself. Presenter and founder Nada Assaad ensures that it never gets boring with her questions and spontaneous interjections.

With this incorruptible charm, read together! has built up a loyal fan base in a very short space of time and changed Cologne's cultural landscape for good.

One thing is certain: once you've been to a read together! event, you'll keep coming back.
