Roger Kintopf's CIPHER creates a new kind of sound world: music as structured poetry, a soundscape that simultaneously breaks apart and comes together. The ensemble redesigns musical spaces and leads each composition into unexplored spheres - with absolute dedication to curiosity, vulnerability and interpersonal relationships. An invitation to engage with this carefully crafted musical language. Kintopf's compositions defy conventional categorization by merging dodecaphonic principles with improvisational elements. His works are ciphers that create depth through the various levels between compositional skeleton and interpretation, draw meaning from free spaces and demand a reorientation of one's own playing and listening behavior. Roger Kintopf's CIPHER moves between mapped territories and intuitive reactions - with compositions that do not serve as ready-made statements, but want to be understood as a framework for discovery.
