In the organizer's words:
Never again is now!
Seven prisoners escape from a concentration camp during the Nazi era, only one survives and gropes his way to freedom along dangerous paths. Hans Werner Henze took the subject matter of Anna Seghers' novel of the century as the basis for his Ninth Symphony, which "is an expression of the greatest reverence for the people who resisted during the time of Nazi-fascist terror and who gave their lives for freedom of thought", according to the composer.
