The Japanese avant-garde metal band Sigh has been one of the most influential and innovative acts in the extreme metal scene since its formation in 1990. After early releases on Euronymous' legendary label Deathlike Silence Productions, the band established itself worldwide as a style-defining force between black metal, progressive, jazz and experimental sound art with albums such as Scorn Defeat, Hail Horror Hail and Imaginary Sonicscape.

Several of Sigh's works have received international awards, including Hail Horror Hail as one of the most important metal albums of the 90s in the British Terrorizer Magazine. With their current line-up around mastermind Mirai Kawashima, the band combines traditional Japanese instruments with extreme metal aesthetics and spectacular live shows full of theater, fire and blood. Performances at renowned festivals such as Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting and Maryland Deathfest have cemented their cult status worldwide.
